Information On Pile Driver Sales

A pile driver is a mechanical device used to drive piles into the soil. Piles are a type of foundation used in unstable soils to offer stability to buildings. Piles can be made up of timber poles, steel and even concrete. The piles are then driven deep into the soil till they reach the bedrock in order for them to provide stability. This is what one should know concerning pile driver sales.

It was in the industrial revolution that the invention of the equipment happened. The industrial revolution was characterized by a number changes including mechanization and discovery of new materials for construction and methods of construction. It was around the 1475 that the mechanically sound drawing pile first appeared, this was followed by steam drivers which gained a lot of popularity that it spread worldwide. It is not clear who came up with the invention but some believe it was invented in Scotland by Loch Tay.

Pile drivers exist in many different types. Those used in ancient eras were to heavy that they were operated using animals. They consisted of huge pulleys that dropped heavy weights on one end of piles. The piles would in turn be driven underground. In modern times, various methods have been invented for lifting the weights and guiding piles.

One among the methods is the use of a diesel hammer. This type of driver was made up of two large stroke diesel. The piston is the weight and it is attached to the driver which connects the top cylinder located on top of the pile. Auxiliary means is used to raise the weight for the driving to start.

This is normally a cable running from the crane holding the driver. The driver will draw air into the cylinder and the diesel fuel gets injected into cylinder. The weight is then dropped on top of a pile using quick release. The weight of the piston compresses the mixture of air and fuel heating it to the ignition point of diesel fuel.

The ignition of the mixture transfers energy of falling weight to the head of the pile, which in turn drives it into the ground. This process is repeated automatically unto the load is driven into the ground to the required level. In the manual versions of this set up, pistons get raised to points where the piston gets released automatically by the trip. The piston therefore falls due to gravity. The fuel pump gets activated by the falling piston to discharge a metered amount of fuel pump.

The moment the pump is triggered it releases a metered quantity of fuel on the ball pan of the impact block. Compression of fuel confined in the cylinder begins when the collapsing piston blocks exhaust ports. The impact block is held firmly against the pile and the driver cap by a pre-load force applied by the compressed air.

The impact block is in turn stroke by the piston to atomize the fuel, which in effect starts piles on downward motion. This leads to the ignition of the fuel, causing a huge explosion. The explosion exerts a greater force onto the load, causing it to be driven further into the ground.
