What You Need To Know About Fixing Cooling Fan Assembly For A Cabinet

By Lisa Smith

Most of the devices that we use at home are subject to overheating when used for long time. Items such as game consoles and cable boxes easily get hot and accumulate dust. When they are not well taken care of, they can be a threat to proper air circulation to the cabinets and the equipment. Before it gets worse, it is advisable to ensure that you create ventilator to increase the air circulation. The following is the process that you can use to install a cooling fan assembly for a cabinet:

The easiest way is to remove the doors of the cabinet. In other circumstances, it is not a must for the doors to be removed. The ventilation kit can be used so that the doors remain intact. The ventilator needs to be installed through a process that will not damage any equipment in the cabinet. This ensures that the devices remain functional for longer.

Getting all the needed equipment to perform that task is the first step. You needed to have the jig saw, leveling tools, screw driver and the measuring tapes. Once all the equipment is in one place, you should figure out the exact place where the conditioner will be placed.

You should now make your mind on the place that the kit will be placed for higher functionality. You need to be very careful when selecting the location because it affects other components in the cupboard. In a normal set up, most of the items are stored in the first apartment of the shelf therefore the unit to be installed, should be parallel with that given shelf.

After making the decision of the point to be placed, you now have to find a central point to place the kit. You should mark the point using the scripting material. The system comes with the covering tape hence you should make an outline using that tape. The ventilating unit needs to be placed at the center using the tapes. The leveling gears should be use at this point to create proper level. The tape is mostly used to ensure that the cupboard is not damaged in any way.

The other step is drilling the hole using a drill. There are varying sizes that can be used but the standard one is the half inch bit. The holes should be two in number and they should be placed in the contrary junctions on the markings that were made earlier inside the rectangle. You should then cut the marked lines using the saw. You should begin sawing at the point that you had drilled the holes. The next step is measuring the cut square to find out if the kit will fit.

Once the measurements are made, you should collect all the ventilation kit and fix it in the hole. You need to follow the instructions that are highlighted in the manual. The conditioner should be fixed in the grill and the right side should face on the outside direction. The kit should be fixed to the mounting plate and then the entire system can then be installed inside the hole.

The last step is to ensure that four holes are drilled at the four corners of the rectangle where the plate is placed. You should not drill deeper holes and their purpose is for placing the screws. Once you place the screws using the screw drivers, you will be done with the installation.
