Therefore, your client will provide you with a checklist which you will use in the preparation. You must follow the correct procedure to ensure that the vessel is not damaged along the way.

As part of the preparation, you will have to drain all the water system and bilge of the ship. It is recommended that the bilge remains dry during transportation. Draining the air conditioning and water a pump is also vital if the transportation is done during the winter period.

All the batteries in the vessel are supposed to be disconnected and kept in a secure place. The dinghies from the davits are removed and secured onboard with plenty of padding. All the topside electronics are also removed and slowed below the deck. Besides, the body parts that you feel may break along the way has to be removed and also slowed below the deck for security purposes. After finishing the preparation process, lock the cabin and keep the keys with you.

Once you reach your destination, you should inspect the vessel and note any kind of damage that never existed in case there is any. If the ship is in good condition, you will be required to sign that it was safely delivered. The final thing is to reinstall the ship then put it in the water.
